We believe your privacy is important, and we've designed MVO with that in mind.

Everything you do in MVO stays on your device, with only one very specific technical exception outlined below.

The Exception: PostHog Analytics (Anonymized Technical Data Only)

To help us maintain and improve the app's core functionality, we use PostHog for anonymized technical data in two scenarios:

1. Error Tracking & Crash Reporting (Production App)

If a download fails or the app crashes, PostHog captures a technical error report.

  • What we collect: Error type, versions, crash stack trace, device model, iOS version.
  • What we DON'T collect: Personal identifiers, device IDs, IP addresses, browsing history, content of your bookmarks.
  • Why we collect it: To understand why transfers fail and fix underlying issues.
  • Privacy: This data is aggregated and anonymized. PostHog does not create user profiles from error reports, and the data cannot be used to identify you or your device.

2. Product Improvement (Optional Opt-In)

Some basic in-app interaction metrics help us prioritize feature development.

  • What we collect: Button press counts, feature usage frequency, session length, app open/close events.
  • What we DON'T collect: No content you view, no URLs you save, no preferences stored, no personal data whatsoever.
  • Privacy: These metrics are pseudonymized and aggregated. We never share or sell this data.

About PostHog

PostHog is a product analytics platform that hosts data on secure servers. They comply with GDPR and CCPA standards. We use their privacy-preserving features:

  • Data anonymization enabled
  • No cross-user profiling

Local Storage

MVO runs locally on your device. It may use local storage (such as UserDefaults or local database files) to save your preferences, history, or configurations. All these settings stay strictly on your device. We don't have access to them, and we don't want access to them.

Third-Party Services

We use PostHog for anonymized error tracking and basic product analytics (production app only). We don't use any other third-party analytics or advertising services. The app only connects to the internet to perform the downloads you request and to send the anonymous error reports mentioned above.

Our Business Model

We don't sell your data. We don't monetize your attention. Revenue comes solely from subscriptions to fund ongoing development.

Changes To This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we'll update this document. But our core philosophy will remain the same: your data belongs to you.
