Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Your privacy matters to us, and MVO is designed to keep your library on your device. This page explains, in plain words, what stays with you, what is synced through your own iCloud account, and the small amount of anonymous technical data we use to improve the app.
What stays on your device
Your library lives on your iPhone or iPad: the pages and media you save, their thumbnails, your collections, your bookmarks, your playback positions and your settings. We have no access to this content and we do not want it.
iCloud sync (your own Apple account)
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is enabled for MVO, your library details (titles, web addresses, authors, collections, bookmarks, playback positions) are synced through your private iCloud account, so they come back on a new device or after reinstalling the app. The media saved in the cache is not synced. This data is stored by Apple in your account; we cannot read it. You can turn it off in the iOS Settings app (Apple ID → iCloud).
Anonymous usage statistics (ASO Atlas)
To understand which features are used and improve the app, MVO sends anonymous usage events to ASO Atlas, our analytics service.
- What is sent: a random identifier created on your device (not linked to your name, email or Apple ID), the screens you open and the actions you take in the app (for example: a favorite added, a media saved to cache or played, a collection created, the Premium screen viewed, a purchase or restore), the app version, iOS version, device model and app language.
- What is never sent: the content of your library, the web pages you visit, the addresses you save, your searches, or any personal identifier.
- Your control: in Settings → Delete usage data, you can delete the statistics already sent from your device at any time. A new anonymous identifier is then used.
Error reports (PostHog)
When something goes wrong (for example, a media cannot be saved to cache or the app hits an unexpected error), MVO sends a technical report to PostHog, hosted in the European Union.
- What is sent: the type of error and its technical message, app version, iOS version, device model, and app lifecycle events (app opened or sent to the background). To help us reproduce a failure, a report about a cache job may include the title or web address of the item that failed.
- What is not sent: your library, your browsing history, your name, email or Apple ID.
- Why: to find and fix bugs. We do not use these reports for advertising or profiling.

Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details; the app only receives the status of your subscription from Apple.
Network connections
MVO connects to the internet only to:
- load the websites you visit in the built-in browser (and run your searches with DuckDuckGo when you type words instead of an address);
- save to cache the media you choose;
- sync your library with your iCloud account;
- send the anonymous statistics and error reports described above.
The websites you visit have their own privacy policies.
No ads, no data sales
MVO has no advertising and no advertising trackers. We do not sell or rent any data. Our revenue comes from subscriptions, which fund the ongoing development of the app.
Children
MVO is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Our principle stays the same: your library belongs to you.
