We believe your privacy is important, and we've designed MVO with that in mind.

We Don't Collect Your Personal Data

We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information. Period.

  • No user accounts or profiles
  • No location data
  • No advertising tracking
  • No personal identifiers or usage statistics

Everything you do in MVO stays on your device, with only two very specific technical exceptions outlined below.

The Exceptions: What We Do Collect

To help us maintain and improve the app's core functionality, we collect minimal, non-identifiable technical data in these two scenarios:

1. Download Error Reports (Production App)

If a download fails, the app automatically sends a bug report.

  • What we collect: The URL that failed to download.
  • Why we collect it: For post-analysis, so we can understand why the transfer failed and fix the underlying issue.
  • Privacy: This report contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you or your device.

2. TestFlight Versions (Beta Testing)

If you are using a beta version of MVO via Apple TestFlight, we collect more detailed telemetry to help us test the app before public release.

  • What we collect: All URLs entered into the app and whether the download succeeded or failed.
  • Why we collect it: To robustly test our parsing and downloading engine against various web structures.
  • Privacy: Just like the production app, this data is purely technical and is never linked to your personal identity.

Local Storage

MVO runs locally on your device. It may use local storage (such as UserDefaults or local database files) to save your preferences, history, or configurations. All these settings stay strictly on your device. We don't have access to them, and we don't want access to them.

Third-Party Services

We don't use any third-party analytics (aside from standard Apple TestFlight tools for beta users) or advertising services. The app only connects to the internet to perform the downloads you request and to send the anonymous error reports mentioned above.

Our Business Model

We don't sell your data because we don't collect it. It's that simple.

Changes To This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we'll update this document. But our core philosophy will remain the same: your data belongs to you.
